Electrical and Instrumentation Apprentice - Rocky Creek

Georgia-Pacific is hiring an Electrical and Instrumentation Apprentice for our Monroeville, AL location. This facility produces a variety of products from southern yellow pine, including dimension lumber, heavy studs, squares/timbers and barn timbers. The Electrical and Instrumentation Apprentice will create value by learning the everyday operations of the mill and how to troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment leading to increased uptime and reliability, thus helping the facility to meet their production and quality goals. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

  • Partnering with a mentor toensure proper operation of all electrical / control system components including electronic components, motors, solenoids, limit switches, PLC I/O modules and photo-eye sensors
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of reliability centered maintenance strategies
  • Improving operations productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, and coordination of labor, parts, material, tools and equipment access
  • Appling all applicable codes, regulations, reliability strategies, corporate and Original Equipment Manufacturer standards
  • Sharing knowledge with other technicians for maintaining and troubleshooting PLCs, instrumentation, andcontrols

What You Will Need:
Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two (2) year certificate or higher from an accredited college/trade school in Electrical Technology

  • Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment
  • Willing to work shift work

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
